Welcome to the Rani Review!

In this time of turmoil and uncertainty, we strive to uplift women doing the difficult work of activism and empowerment, whether that occurs in their communities, nationwide, or within themselves.

In South Asia, the word “Rani”, in many languages, means “queen.”

The diversity of royal women throughout history fascinates us. In societies in which women had few rights, queens held pivotal positions of influence. Even if they held less political power than others, queens were (and are) a source of inspiration.

Queens dominate in all landscapes, not just the monarchy-leaders in politics, education, art, and more. Their voices will be featured here.

Important work cannot happen without community, and one of the characteristics of a true modern queen includes empowering and educating in many ways.

We hope you’ll join us on this journey.
